If you've been reading Bee Money Simple, you know it was always about more than money. It was about freedom, time, and learning from nature.

That’s why I’m rebranding the newsletter as Freedom Hive: Canadian Gen Z Investing.

It’s still me — Hank Svec — still lessons from bees and nature, but now we’re diving deeper into how young Canadians can invest for freedom, not just dollars.

Here’s the thing:

What if I were 21 again, but with 45 years of investing experience and 30-plus years as a clinical psychologist?

At 21, I thought freedom meant having a lot of money. But it doesn’t. You don’t need a lot — just enough, with the right mindset. I’ll help you find that.

One regret I have. I only recently learned how to manage my money, so I can have more fun. How can you enjoy some of life’s luxuries at 21 and still be a great investor?

That’s what this newsletter and the Freedom Hive podcast are all about.

But I’m not sure Gen Z has what it takes to be a great investor. I’m putting the podcast on hold until I can figure out if there is any interest in this topic. If you think there is, please let me know and share this newsletter and the podcast link. Gen Z trades stocks on a regular basis, seeking that dopamine fix, something we should never do. We’ll see if they want to consider a change and listen to my 69-year-old brain.
