Why Trump Likely Will Win Today

Special Election Brief

Although I have written in previous newsletters that the US Election has little to do with long-term investing, some interesting facts have emerged that may make a difference.

Over the past weeks, Trump has demonstrated some exciting changes that are in direct contrast to his competition.

My background as a psychologist would influence me to believe that despite what many people think, he is more in touch with reality and the fragile nature of life.

His two nearly missed assassination attempts, I believe, are the reason.

I listened to the three-plus-hour Joe Rogan interview, and it was a fascinating look inside his thinking.

He is extraordinarily relatable. It’s not something you can pinpoint. In evaluating prospective therapists in my time as a clinical psychologist, we call it the 30-second connect. This means that in a half-minute or less, a person can connect with a person at more than a superficial level. Outstanding therapists do this. Trump is doing this. He didn’t or couldn’t do this before the two near misses on his life.

As Trump has demonstrated through his continual speeches and openness to conducting interviews, he has become increasingly connected to people's feelings. He now has the 30-second connect.

It’s challenging for those on the VP Harris side to stop and let the experience happen. They don’t get it. VP Harris is at the other end of the spectrum with the 30-second connect.

That is a shame.

I believe that Trump becoming president of the United States today is more likely than 80%. I am so confident that I’ve placed my maximum bet of $1 on that outcome for a $1.50 return in my online wagering game.

Going to be an interesting day.
